On 24th of September we were shooting a children choir at Joseph and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat musical at Wiena Statshale. The musical was directed by Stanislav Moša. Shooting took place in a huge test-room and as background we used a green sheet for keying. Because most of the projection consisted of great (in size) Bible and we had to merge it with a pre-shooted live choir.
We had only 6 hours to do all the shooting and had to deal with 40 children who spoke only german. But finally everything was perfect and on the 1st of October we could enjoy the musical as audience.
The projection in Joseph are a combination of pre-shooted footage of a live choir and animation sequences and light effects.
Another part of our work was shooting the musical itself. Because of limited sources we had only 3 cameras - 2 Sony HDR FX-1 and one Sony HVR-Z1 in HD resolution.
